Staff Spotlight : Trivia Murder Party 3's Product Manager Sydney

We recently spoke to Sydney, the Product Manager for Trivia Murder Party 3 about her favorite Jackbox memories, hosting themed parties, and [REDACTED]'s juicy secrets! Read below and wishlist Trivia Murder Party 3 now so you can stay up-to-date on what Sydney's been working on when it drops in Early Access later this year!

How long have you worked at Jackbox Games?

I’ve been at Jackbox for just over a year now!

Do you have a favorite Jackbox memory?

My first playtest at the company is a memory I’ll always hold dear and really set the tone for my time at Jackbox. It captured what makes the company and the community around it so special, with people from different teams coming together, tossing out “what if we…” ideas, and building something fun and meaningful. The work here is joyful and purposeful, shaped by passionate (and genuinely hilarious) people. Knowing that the laughter and excitement we experience in playtests is something we get to share with players makes it even more special.

What’s your favorite Jackbox game?

Anything Trivia Murder Party, of course. I love anything with a little extra lore and personality. That said, I do have a soft spot for Bomb Corp. I’m a very cheery person but my taste in games just leans a little stressful.

What are you currently working on?

Amongst some other things that [REDACTED] has deemed not permissible to share at this time, I’m working on the online multiplayer system for Trivia Murder Party 3! It’s been an incredibly exciting ride defining what online play looks like specifically for Jackbox. A lot of my work centers on thinking through how we best support and delight players, what features make sense for how fans interact with our games, and how to keep online play feeling social, expressive, and unmistakably Jackbox. That player-first focus also means staying close to player feedback, reviews, and community chatter, alongside plenty of analysis and experimentation.

Do you know any secrets about [REDACTED]?

I do… but telling you would probably activate a trap door beneath my desk.

What do you like to do when you’re not working?

I grew up singing opera and am a huge fan of musical theater, so music will always be a big part of my life. I also love cooking, and while it might sound a little odd, I’m very passionate about hosting themed parties or anything that gives me an excuse to fully commit to a theme.

If you could play Jackbox with anyone dead or alive, who would you choose?

Henry VIII and his wives, easily. I love history, and like some history-fanatics, I went through a very real Tudor phase. A game where everyone has an equal shot (and can unpack some long-overdue historical tea) feels only fair.
