Fakin’ It XL is coming November 12th to a bundle near you
One of our most beloved and most played games is getting a fresh coat of paint! We’ve been on an odyssey of our own this year, preparing to launch Trivia Murder Party 3 into early access, The Jackbox Party Pack 12, and working on our new streaming service platform. We really enjoy revisiting fan-favorites but don’t always have time, ideas, or resources to devote to a full sequel.
We got to play around in the world of Fakin’ It when we released Fakin’ It All Night Long in The Jackbox Naughty Pack. Players really loved some of the updates we made to the game but it did require a risqué mindset. We heard from you that you wanted some good, clean, T-for-Teen fun!
So, we decided to reskin Fakin’ It All Night Long, pull out the risqué material, pull in some of the rounds and content you love from the original Fakin’ It game, add some brand new content, and launch an XL version, much like we have for Quiplash XL and Fibbage XL before.
Surprise! Fakin’ It XL will be available on Steam, Epic, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation, and Xbox on November 12th. It will include brand-new content exclusive to this version. It will also include game modes that allow for remote playability. For example, in the original Fakin’ It, some rounds require you to point at people around you, which made the game hard to play on livestreams or video calls. We’ve solved this with options on your controller that allow your avatar to share information on your behalf.
We looked hard at building this straight into the original Fakin’ It, but The Jackbox Party Pack 3 runs on a decade-old codebase that wasn’t built for the remote playability and new rounds that we wanted to add in quick fashion. Building on the newer foundation of Fakin’ It All Night Long lets us bring the upgrades to you without us continuing to kick this can until we had a time where more resources were available.
That’s also why we’re treating Fakin’ It XL the same way we did Quiplash XL and Fibbage XL: a standalone release. We priced it lower than our other standalones at $8.99 and it’s available in a discounted bundle on every platform if you’re picking up our other new releases too:
