Tie-Die DIY and a Giveaway

Do you ever wonder what the campers at Mass Acres get up to before sundown? When we’re not practicing archery or studying up for trivia… we can have a little fun in the arts and crafts cabin!

You can tie-dye most natural fabrics, but a white 100% cotton tee is a classic choice. We’re using white Camp Mass Acres Ringer Tees available in the gift shop.

• Prewash and dry the garments using no fabric softener and no dryer sheets.
   
• Prepare to Die… I mean, prepare the dye, following the instructions from the product you’re using. We’re using a one-step powdered dye; just add water and shake the prefilled squeeze bottles.
  
  
   
• You can create a really cool crumple effect really easily... even with one hand tied behind your back. Just scrunch the fabric up into a wad and secure it with rubber bands.
   
• Then, apply the dyes in whatever color combination you like! Make sure you’re dyeing all sides of the wadded-up shirt.
  
  
   
• When you’ve applied enough dye and things are looking groovy, wrap the garment in plastic and let it sit for eight hours (or overnight).
   
• After the dye has had time to set, rinse the garment thoroughly with cold water until it runs mostly clear and the excess pigment is removed. 
  
  
   
• Cut the rubber bands from the garment and wash separately in cold water with a small amount of detergent.
   
• Dry separately and enjoy your customized camp tee. Looking Swell!
